Born in 1988, he studied saxophone with Klaus Dickbauer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and participated in the renowned “New York comes to Groningen” program at the Prins Claus Conservatoire in the Netherlands, were he studied with Michael Moore. Furthermore, he attended workshops and took lessons with Andrew D’Angelo, Matt Wilson, Lew Tabakin, George Garzone, Don Braden, Mark Gross etc.)

Skorupa is an instrumentalist, composer and arranger living in Vienna and working internationally. He received a scholarship from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education Arts and Culture for his compositional work, is the winner of the “European Jazz Contest” and received the 2nd prize at the “Made in New York Jazz Competition” with the ensemble “Woody Black 4”. For the period of 2018/19 the ensemble is nominated for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ music support program “New Austrian Sound of Music”. With his group “Sketchbook Quartet” (NASOM Act for 2020-23) he is prize winner of the “Central Europe Jazz Competition” and performed with various ensembles internationally (Nattjazz Festival Bergen, Tokyo Jazz Festival, Südtirol Jazz Festival, Maastricht Jazz Festival, Jazzahead Bremen etc.). He is co-founder of “Waschsalon Records”, a Viennese label for Jazz and improvised music.  In the season 2020/21 Skorupa was leading the “Stageband” in the Jazz&Music club Porgy&Bess.

Er wurde 1988 in Wien geboren und studierte Saxophon bei Klaus Dickbauer an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. Ferner war er Teilnehmer des „New York comes to Groningen“ Jazzprogrammes des Prins Claus Konservatoriums in den Niederlanden im Zuge eines Erasmusaufenthaltes, wo er bei Michael Moore studierte. Er besuchte Workshops und nahm Unterricht bei Andrew D’Angelo, Matt Wilson, Lew Tabakin, George Garzone, Don Braden, Mark Gross usw.

Skorupa lebt in Wien und arbeitet als Musiker, Komponist und Arrangeur mit zahlreichen Ensembles und Musikern aus der internationalen Musikszene zusammen.

Er erhielt das Staatstipendium des Bundeskanzleramtes für Unterricht und Kultur, ist Gewinner des „European Jazz Contest“ und erreichte den zweiten Preis bei der “Made in New York Jazz Competition” mit dem Ensemble „Woody Black 4“, für das er auch komponiert. Für den Zeitraum 2018/19 wurde das Ensemble „Woody Black 4“ für das „New Austrian Sound of Music (NASOM)“ Förderungsprogramm des österreichischen Außenministeriums ausgewählt. Ferner ist er mit dem „Sketchbook Quartet“ (NASOM Act für den Zeitraum 20-23) Preisträger der „Central Europe Jazz Competition“ und kann auf eine internationale Konzerttätigkeit mit diversen Ensembles zurückblicken (u.a. Nattjazz Festival Bergen, Tokyo Jazz Festival, Südtirol Jazz Festival, Maastricht Jazz Festival, Jazzahead Bremen etc.). Er ist Mibegründer von "Waschsalon Records", einem Wiener Label für Jazz & improvisierte Musik.  In der Saison 2020/21 leitete Skorupa die "Stageband" im Wiener Jazz&Musicclub Porgy&Bess.
